Mission Statement

As a component of The University of Texas-Pan American, the University Library plays a critical
role in the commitment of the University to academic excellence in a balanced program of
teaching, research, and service. Its main function is to provide educational support for The
University of Texas-Pan American. The Library facilitates scholarship by securing and providing
access to resources and facilities to students, faculty, and the community. The Library actively
assists academic and research programs by providing students with Library use instruction both on
an individual and group basis. The University Library serves as the chief information center on
campus and plays a strong role as a regional information center.
